INITIAL COURSE GOALS
& FINAL REFLECTION
Learner
INITIAL:
I have been participating in various instructional design learning networks including online forums, social groups, and emails through sources such as eLB, Adobe, Articulate, InVision, FB groups, Behance, etc. I have recently added Twitter at the behest of my professor and my goal is to actively explore that platform by contributing content/comments bi-weekly and finding at least three groups that are beneficial to developing my professional interests.
FINAL:
I have continued my participation in these forums, engaging in discussions, and posting events and sources. I explored using Twitter, and while it was a valid source for these interactions, I have found that my favorite platform for this type of collaboration is Facebook. One of the major benefits in my growth while using participating in these forums is the realization that the majority of people participating in this field and learning and continuously developing their pedagogy. This knowledge has helped me to overcome my impostor syndrome to a great degree.

Leader
INITIAL:
I will share with colleagues new digital sources and tools for learning. I will start a spreadsheet with tools and websites for us all to share and continue our professional development. I participate in a Skype group with my colleagues in which we source for aid and inspiration, and in which I have been an initiator and motivator of a wellness challenge.
FINAL:
While I have shared sources, both within my group and from my group to the social platforms, I did not start a spreadsheet. I still want to and have placed it in my yearly employee review as a goal for this year to ensure continual accountability. The wellness challenge with my group has been a success, multiple participants not only nearing a healthier weight but also have been able to discontinue use of costly medications and insulin because of their success. I even organized and lead a team-building hike outside of work hours.
Analyst
INITIAL:
I am intimidated by the analyst standards because I find it difficult to incorporate alternative ways for eLearners to demonstrate competency outside of the provided activity. I will explore solutions to resolve this hesitancy that will create a greater universal design for learning.
FINAL:
While I still think it is difficult to incorporate alternative ways for eLearners to demonstrate competency outside of the provided activity, I have discovered new tools to present those activities. For instance, tools that allow for interactive video, which a client recently asked about and which I previously had no knowledge of.
