REFLECTION
I learned about the EdPuzzle video enhancement tool that allows assessment data to be gathered while learners interact with instructional videos. I learned it by exploring the tool where I learned not only how it works, but that it can be embedded in courses I build for LMS projects at work.
It has taught me a tool that I can use to apply to all of my goals of learner, leader, and analyst. I can use this tool to continue my personal enrichment and in the educational social forums, I can share this took with my coworkers, and it provides an interactive means of assessment that it more engaging when spread throughout the video rather than all at the end.
I have learned about this tool that I am really excited to use and also to share with others. I have already told my sister who home schools her children, and with my coworker. This tool is fantastic because you can direct the direction of the instruction, making emphasis on the points the students should learn, while not having to go through the painstaking task of creating a video yourself.
It could be a struggle to find a relevant video, but with the availability of instruction, and links to educational institutions such as Kahn Academy, there is a lot of availability, so it just takes time to determine which video best represents your desired direction of discussion and education.
The students will find a video that exemplifies the Standard and create a quiz that includes at least 5 questions about the video they have chosen. Their quiz will be randomly assigned to 3 students and they will view/perform each other's projects. All projects will be available for all students to review if desired.
I will work to include more of the Computational Thinker points, perhaps a task such as creating instructions for another group to follow that will animate a robot. This could be another project entirely, however, the students could make their instructions into a video with the quiz points serving as checkpoints for the students to ensure they are track and confirming the project worked.
